  1. I've tried to capture video from a VHS tape using an ATi All-In-Wonder Rage 128 Pro card and VirtualDub. At default resolution it works flawlessly, but when I choose highest possible PAL resolution (720x576) it captures until it reaches the area where tape quality is very low. After that point everything looks normally, but stats on the right freeze and when I stop capturing the output file cointains only video prior to that freeze point. What should I do? What other software will do the work?

    If you're compressing with Huffyuv, try ticking the box that says "Enable full-size output buffer".

    Failing that, try another codec, try uncompressed, try capturing with "Video -> No display"...
