How to get .m3u8 links?

Hey guys,

First, I'm a complete noob in the video streaming/downloading world.

Second, I'm not a Windows user, I'm a Mac user, so I don't have access to most of the tools that are used on this forum.

As you can see below, my web browser, Safari, can natively play the .m3u8 links.



So I don't think that I need to download any files, correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway, I'm trying to get the .m3u8 link for this video:

And I have to admit, it's a real pain in the ass, I installed livestreamer and tried to get something out of it, but it returns this error:

I also tried the Firefox/Adblock Plus method using "Open blockable items", but no success:



I also obviously searched the forum a lot and it seems to be really easy for a lot of people to find the .m3u8 links but I couldn't find any clear explanation on how to get them or at least since I am not a Windows user I can't use the tools used.

So what am I doing wrong? Should I search something else that "m3u8"?

The last and only thing that I could think of is to use the CBS App for smartphone with Wireshark to get the HTML5 link.

As the title says, how do you all get your .m3u8 links?

Ok so using my iPhone with the CBS App and Debookee, I managed to get the streaming links but still no .m3u8

At this point I think I'll just give up...

The first problem might be the title of your thread. People may think that you're taking the piss out of them. Just imagine - thousands of posts about downloading streams and ... your one. Maybe change it to "How to get stream/.m3u8 links on Mac (CBS etc)" or something more informative.
