I would like to know how would I hook up my Dazzle DVC USB to my big c-band dish satellite to capture tv shows? The way I hook it up is through my vcr with the satellite cable in. I see lines that look like static on my tv. Is something wrong with my satellite cable? Also how could I do the same on a Dish Network receiver?

  2. Something about cable signals not being grounded.

There is no way to directly capture from sat, cable, dcable, etc.....
without running into the problem with "grounding".

Your best bet would be to tape the TV shows onto a SVHS first
and then cap through the S-Video input on the dazzle.

I've captured OTA tv shows onto the Dazzle with no increase in quality when compared to the same show taped on a SVHS recorder, the SVHS capture came out slightly ahead of the direct OTA capture.

  3. Have my Digital Cable box directly connect to my PC via my Firewire through the Hollywood Bridge, on one system and via my S-VHS recorder on the other one and I have never had a problem with "grounding" I use Premiere 6.0 on one (Hollywood Bridge) and VIrtualDub Capture or MMC 7.6 on the other system, both are running under WIN2000 Pro and have the ATI Readon Card (Rage 128 Pro) and 64DDR. So I don't think "grounding" is your problem. You may want to double check the type of cables you are using, re-connect all to be sure you have good contect on all.
