  1. Hi all. I was getting ready to hardsub something using avidemux (v2.6 on Windows 10, and this is the first I've done since upgrading from Windows 8...not sure if that's part of the problem), but as I was checking through the preview, I noticed that one specific font is not displaying correctly (it's Estrangelo Edessa, if it makes a difference). It looks fine in aegisub, and I just checked the .ass file in virtualdub out of curiosity, and it's fine there too. I can't recall if I've used this particular font in avidemux before, so I'm not sure if this is a new problem, or if it used to work and now does not...

Any ideas as to what's going on? And hopefully how to fix it? I've never had a font just straight up not work in avidemux like this.

Avidemux 2.6.10? Try then an older version like 2.6.8.

Have you tried convert? Does it look same like the preview?

  3. I still have 2.6.8, actually. I'm not sure what you mean by trying convert.

Edit: and I just tried the softsubs in VLC, and the font is wrong there too. So apparently it's not exclusive to avidemux. I'm thinking this might be a Windows 10 "feature" Going to check my fonts now...and yeah. It's not included by default in Windows 10 anymore, but it still works in aegisub and virtualdub?

I should have known to check the font first. I just a couple of days ago had to reinstall a different font that I noticed missing in another context.

    So problem solved
