****in hilarious.. **** did I ever have a hard time trying to get the broadcast specs going with the wrong tools! hahahaha!! And then I was reading later where you guys had enough with the manic rambling of me trying to figure things out. And I get ticked off going **** you guys.. hahahah.. Sorry about that was absolutely frazzled back then.

How I came across the old thread, was getting back to broadcast specs and a couple things I'm looking up.

• Include a blank, safety caption at the start of the video

The guy at the distribution place had said

"The character in the blank safety caption can be a music note before lyric starts. This is regarding closed captioning of the video."

Well I'm watching muchmusic trying to spot this blank safety caption and sometimes they just start with the lyrics I don't see this blank safety caption.

Anyways, i was looking that up and seen this old thread.. reading it, it's like, holy **** what a head scratcher. Then you guys are like use these geek programs and I did put together a ******* .mxf hahaha.. What a mess though.

Here's another one I figured out since.

• Include a 5 second slate

Well, the guy said

"A slate contains the Artist, Title, and length of the video. It is usually just 5 seconds of black screen with the Title, Artist, and Length in white letters. "

Seems doable, back then I probably thought it was some sorta count down timer or something.

Allright.. so what's been up since then. That was back in 2013. Last fall I changed band name. Been going good since. Got a good one word username, the urls, even a gmail. **** was that a pain in the ass getting your brand name act together.

So I started with some audio only but then, went yeah i gotta get back into the video cause that's how it gets things out there. Picked up a camera last summer. A 60x zoom nikon. Got like 5 batteries, 2 64gb sd cards 150x read. A good case. Tripods, what a pain in the ass. I'm there, what do you want in a tripod. Well got one with 3 handles. You don't want the twist clamp things cause they get loose. It has these fast clamps. All ******* metal. Worked good. Then I go film shit for a video and **** do you ever need a stabilization gimbal. 800US. I'd have to get one of those. To deal with crap got this bad mercalli prodad stabilization plugin. Worked ok but kinda rough. So did one video with my own footage.

Meanwhile my financial situation ain't much better than back then. Doing the paper for **** all plus yeah body's almost barely not able to handle it. Ain't no getting no gimbal any time soon.

Got like 3 other videos I did. Then it was like ok I gotta get back into those broadcast specs to be able to submit to tv music places eh. Understood a little bit more about the specs now.

Really good news though the other day. Before that I was still trying to pull it off with that adobe premiere 5.5. You get this ******* XDCAM HD422 preset they show in the tutorial pdf. Well my piece of crap program didn't have that preset. Looking into it, it's a sony codec so go get the vegas again. That program's awkward. Was gonna use it. But ya still gotta deal with closed captions. What a pain in the friggen ass. Was able to get the specs going with vegas cause it has that xdcam codec but you're still having to deal with captions.

So i'm looking around for programs it's like the one they recommend costs a grand.. yeah. Then keep looking and notice adobe premiere CC can create captions. So i'm there **** let's go get this thing. Almost couldn't get 'er goin the way you have to change this hosts file so adobe doesn't check back home and go bad serial.

Got 'er done the layout is familiar. Then this prodad stabilization plugin i had didn't work. But I remember a while ago looking into stabilization seen something about warp stabilizer in CC so i'm there, hey let's go look that up again. Well it works so **** the prodad scrapped that.

Then I go to intall that old video denoise plugin I actually bought.. hahah.. Install but don't see it in the effects. When I was going thru that thread, noticed i mentioned it doing that before. See, my ramblings actually help me out somewhere later so just kinda brush it off if you don't get it. But yeah I just uninstalled it and tried installing it in the plugins\common and it worked. But notice before I was talking about these icons above the effects with the 32 and yuv.. i'm there oh yeah and you wouldn't see it if you had one of those on. The accelerator one.

Anyways, got that going so things are like they were. Now it has that ******* XDCAM HD422 preset! jeez. And then you can do captions in there eh but just fired it up last night so haven't had a chance to get 'er goin but you can create them in there.

This is new with that version.. before you're ****ed in the ass trying to do captions. Now sounds like i'll be able to do them right in that damn program I'm used to. Then convert and export with that codec... and it'll embed the captions. Before it's like, what.. i gotta use some lame duck program, import and what it's gonna have to attach an .srt file or would it embed it in that .mxf.

jeez.. what a bunch of losing with all that other shit before, eh? We almost did it though, had exported a ******* .mxf with sounded like specs might work. But no, you have to do it the proper way that they talk about in their tutorial pdfs for broadcast specs. And now, it's even better cause they talk about using some other bullshit program for the captions.

ok so hows that for keeping you up at night when you try to sleep, back then.

oh looking at my profile, where you can click the computer specs. Same comp but got 16gb ram now. It says 8 there. Also have a 1tb 7200rmp backup drive on here. The monitor is a 47in led. Picked up some ass hauling speakers with 4 drivers each, some polk 75. Got a new receiver. New illuminated keyboard. hahah.. yeah i wear those out from all the rambling on. lol
