On two of my movies that I have tried to encode I have gotten this error once the movie has encoded to a certain percent using TMPGenc: "Illegal Floating decimal point calculation order." If anyone knows what this means or knows how to fix it, I would appreciate the help. Thanks

I have had the same problem, I'm new at this two, have created 5 vcd's and all work great in my apex. Once i received this error code, i checked to see if the rip was o.k. and found distortion in the segment that was giving me the floating decimal error. I believe this is causing the problem, would love to find out how to fix the 10 frames that are causing this. Good luck all.

Which version of TMPGENC, and what type of CPU are you using (AMD or Intel)?

One possible fix is to change the AVI file engine TMPGEnc uses. Try going to
1. Options
2. Environmental Settings
3. VFAPI Plugin
4. right click on 'Direct Show Multimedia File Reader'
5. select Higher Priority
It should come up first in the list.
If your error occurs part way through an encode then it is due to a frozen frame. Search the forums, you can find others with the same error and some solutions. -
Install DivX Antifreeze find a link under tools and change in TMPGEnc. under Environmental settings: VFAPI plug-ins: DirectShow Multimedia File Reader priority to 1 by right clicking it and select Higher Priority
