  1. Ok, I have converted a divx film to DVD, and it plays fine on my computer, everything is perfect. The film is NTSC and have converted using tmpg to DVD(NTSC). However I have burnt onto DVDR and played the movie on my standalone player, and the sound becomes out of sync, the further u go through the film the further out of sync. I know its not the player, as I brought the DVDR back to my computer and it plays the same, out of sync, anyone got any ideas?

Could be a bad MPEG2 codec. Play the MPEG2 under Windows Media Player, then bring up properties of file. Check which codecs used for Audio/Video decode.

I had a problem with Ligos, others had a problem with Elecard, others had problems with Raviscent (from ATI).

Different video packages install their own codecs, especially DVD packages. Sometimes they install themselves as the default codec to handle.

I had a problem using DVD2AVI + TMPGENC. Problem most noticable when encoding part of MPEG2 file using "Source Range" option. Audio was out of synch with video by 5 seconds, even though source file played okay.

Search for topic "DVD2AVI + TMPGENC source range = synch problems" in this forum for more info...

  3. Dont understand. Let me explain better. Ok I had a DIVX file and I used virtualdub to change the audio within the Divx to WAV, I then used tmpg to convert the divx and wav file to a DVD Mpeg file. This file I have created works fine when played in Powerdvd, works sweet. BUT when I burn the file in Ulead DVD MovieFactory it burns fine. however the sound becomes more and more out of sync as the movie goes on. I know it aint a fault with my standalone player as the dvd plays the same using Powerdvd in my pc with the DVDR disc. At the moment I am reauthoring the file onto my HD to test to see if that still does it, and will play the Vobs in powerdvd. If all successful will then burn dvd. Otherwise I am still back where I started.

Ok Still the same. I download dxman and uninstalled the lisgo mpeg, now what?

Ah, you didn't mention DVD Moviefactory. Search the forum. There's a patch available from Ulead for DVD Workshop that, according to someone else on this forum, works for Moviefactory that fixes audio-synch issues.

    Hope this helps you...
