    sorry, there are no hacks for this bluray player yet. - https://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks?dvdplayer=Samsung+BD-H5100&hits=50&Search=Search
    if there are any hacks for this player it'll only be for the dvd player side. there are very few bluray players that are hackable.

    Thanks! I only care about the DVD side - want to buy and play a 2005 DVD release from the UK, as I'm told the Region 1 release by A&E is non-digitally remastered garbage quality. Maybe I should just buy an old DVD player that can be hacked.

    you could do that but another issue you'll run into is going to be the PAL to NTSC issue.
