i followed the guide here on vcdhelp on creating a xvcd with tmpgenc. The .avi converted to MPEG fine and i cutt the film into two pieces. When i view the MPEG on Win Media Player video and sound are fine. But after I burned it with Nero's VCD option the video is fine but the sound is periodic moments of silence (4 seconds of sound fades out to a second a silence repeated over and over). I was wondering if i burned the vcd too fast (6x) or if this is a problem with nero or just xvcd's in general. thnx for the help

Did you turn off the standard vcd in Nero? The burning speed shouldn't screw up the audio sync. If your DVD-player supports it, try disabling PBC. I had the same problem on a denver DVD-player and this "fixed" it a little bit.
