i got a copy of cats and dogs but there is laughing and talking in the background and jap subs is there any way to edit the laughing and subtitles out then reburn it to disc??

No...once they're in...they're in. The laughing is in the audio track and the subtitles are actually in the video, not overlayed like DVD subtitles.

I had a copy of Dr. Dolittle 2 just like that, there's pretty much nothing you can do but try to ignore the subtitles and laughing.
