    So it can't be done with just MKVToolNix GUI?

    As far as I can tell there's no official header element for it, and inventing one would only lead to woe.

    There's no official tag for it either, but that's the only place it could be so you should extract the tags and look.

    And no, MKVToolNix GUI doesn't handle tags and whatever MediaInfo is reading isn't in the Matroska Specs.

    Yes, using a text editor (or xml editor) and mkvpropedit.

    It's a little more complicated but I am starting to figure it out.

    mkvpropedit doesn't allow me to edit the xml file and save

    Global tags are more difficult to edit I believe

    ?

    Extract the tags with MKVExtract, edit them with a text/xml editor and add them to a file with MKVPropEdit...

    Global Tags are just track tags with no target. If you're talking about "levels" you can just ignore that, the matroska specs failed to spell out how any of it worked so the tagging system is a dud.

    I have been looking but unsuccessful.
    This is easy:
    1. create with editor a file.xml with this text:
    Code:
    <Tags>
    	<Tag>
    		<Simple>
    			<Name>Ripped by</Name>
    			<String>flashandpan007</String>
    		</Simple>
    		<Simple>
    			<Name>Video Source</Name>
    			<String>Untuched BD50</String>
    		</Simple>
    	</Tag>
    </Tags>
    2. Open MKVtoolnix drag your file and in Output/global tags open this xml file
    3. merge it and done

    Thank you, I figured it out. Now if only I could remove those ridiculous tags from mkvtoolnix that started in v7.0.0

  12. In preferences of the new gui you can add --disable-track-statistics-tags to default additional cmd line options.

  13. does it work for you? second tab in the middle of options ...

  14. Yeah, mediainfo shows no statistics tags when you apply it. You can add it manually or click on the button and select from the list of available options.

    Where exactly do you add [--disable-track-statistics-tags]
    Quote Quote
  16. In new gui open preferences window, "merging" tab and "default additional command line options" under general options.

    You might want to hold on that. I'm in the middle of getting MediaInfo's crappy handling of the statistics tags fixed right now.

    OK....

    Here's a version of the MediaInfo dll that will process the tags properly (ie you can't see them now, but now you CAN see the bitrate for DTS-MA).

    Put it in the MediaInfo program folder as is and it should work.

    It's a 32 bit debug version because my compiler crashes on the release version but it should be ok until the next version of MediaInfo is released.

    -edit- are we not allowed to upload dlls?

    I tried this and made sure it was selected. It still wrote the tags

  21. It has to work but the setting will probably only be used for new jobs. If in doubt restart Mkvtoolnix GUI and try again.

    Keep the tags, download the dll and they'll never bother you again.

    You were right, I forgot to uncheck the tag so it still had it selected yes to mux.
    Thank you everyone for the help!
