Double click on Fade to set start and end time and In or Out fade.

Fade in example: from 0 to 5 seconds.

  3. .
I also had problems with "AviDemux" 2.6.x 32-bit * series Fade filter — which often forced me to use "AviDemux 2.5.6" instead, when I wanted to fade from or to black (or to any color)...
    * Haven't tested Fade with 64-bit versions, yet.

I've always had problems with AviDemux's fade in/out. I always end up inputting numbers that make ZERO sense to get it to fade where I need it. It's always been trial and error for me.
