    im looking for a quick, basic and free MP4 editor that I can edit an MP4 video file with, what do you expert chaps recommend

    I haven't found any that works perfect.

    I just tried the very basic mp4splitter and it seems to work ok on some mp4s. You can't cut exactly though.

    I like XmediaRecode. it works great on mp4 and mts (what I tried so far) and if you cut on key-frames, you can stream copy so no loss of quality.
    Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........
