With Youtube there are many tools that will convert a video to MP4 or MP3. With other sites, it is much spottier. Tumblr for example is often a nightmare to capture a video as MP4. Is there a software tool that would help to capture underlying MP4 or MP3 content in a video on a web page, regardless of the web site it comes from?
I was thinking one way to do this would be to create a proxy server that runs locally on a user's computer. Point the browser to the proxy server. Then the proxy would auto-detect MP4 and MP3 content on a web page and pop up messages to the user to capture those as files on the computer. The streams would still pass through to the web browser, but the proxy server could also at the same time capture the content as a local file.
Something like this would be much easier to use than having to inspect elements on a page, deduce where the MP4 is located, then form a correct URL to capture it.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!
