  1. Trying to sync an audio track from an older version of the movie end of evangelion in english to the new blu ray version
Here are the stats for both

Evangelion Blu Ray English Dub Sync
    original version
    starting time : 1:19
    break start: 41:53
    break finish: 46:55
    total time 1:26:49

    New version
    starting time: 1:18
    break start: 41:52
    break finish: 46:53
    total time: 1:26:47

The audio track is 1 second behind starting time of the new file
2 seconds behind break finish time of the new file

I tried using the delay feature in mkvmerge for -1000ms and the audio file matches up with the starting time but then gets thrown off again when the break finish time is 2 seconds behind

  2. eac3to has an "edit" command to loop or remove sections in the middle of an audio track. You could use that to loop/remove those 2 seconds.

  3. Ok..ill try that. I probably will only remove 1 second though since I still need the 1 second delay in the beginning.

you could also try Audacity . remove the 1 sec at the beginning .
Then remove 2sec where it's needed in the track.
you can also compare with the original track to find out the exact spot.

  5. Use MKVMergeGUI to add the audio and split the file at the break. Adjust the audio delay of each half as required, save them as new MKVs, then use MKVMergeGUI to append them again.

  6. Thanks guys for the help. I ended up using MKVMerge to split the file, fixed the second half by adding -1000ms delay then merged them back together.
