It's a new DVD player and it worked fine for the past few months. Now all of a sudden the video is gone, and I can only hear the movie being played. I tried a new HDMI cable, but it's the same problem. I also tried plugging in the new cable, into different HDMI ports on the TV, but still only audio, and no video on all of them.

Does anyone know what the problem could be? Thank you very much for your input. I really appreciate it .

Does the screen work with regular TV watching via cable/antenna?

If you use a composite video cable (AV cable with red+white+yellow RCA plugs) do you see a picture? If you connect the DVD player to a different TV using HDMI, is there a picture?

Oh sorry, I should have said that it is a blu ray player. I just call it a DVD player cause I play lots of DVDs in it and still use to that. The TV works with a cable and entenna hook up, yes. It also works when watching netflix. It works fine, accept for transmitting through the blu ray player, where there is no picture.

The blu ray player also only comes with an HDMI hook up and there is no RCA hook up with the red, white and yellow plugs.

I only have one TV right now, so I am not sure, if it works on others. I can try.

    TV has picture.
NONE of the HDMI inputs on the TV show picture.
So my guess would be that the player's video output is dead, or MAYBE someone was messing with the TV's remote/menu settings and messed with the input selections. SLIGHT chance of that by the way but I thought I'd just throw it out there.

Okay thanks. That's what I thought, since I tried more than one HDMI cable, but I find it strange how the video output could have gone dead, since it's working fine one minute, then the next it's not. Since it didn't move or anything, what could have happened that would have caused that?

I also cannot find anything on the remote settings that would cause that either. Do you think it's likely a blu ray player issue or TV issue, if it has to do with the remote control settings?

If the video output is dead, is there something that can be done about it?

I would borrow something "HDMI" from somewhere to plug into your TV.....make sure it is the player output that is bad.
