Hi, I have been usin DWS without problems with DVDs.
Now I want to try to author SVCDs.
I am doing everything right as with DVDs for authoring and chapter-menu creation, but when I have to finalize, I have only the option to create an image file. No burning option.
Does anybody else have this problem? How do you burn this image file - which has a *.ixa-extension - no iso or similar extensions.
I am using a Pioneer DVR-A03 which has gone without problem with DVDs. It has been recognized by DWS as such when creating DVDs.
No clues from anybody?

you can use the burning utility from the ULEAD MF (trial).this works even after expiration period.
If you don't have the burning option, maybe your burner and/or driver is not properly recognized.Look in this forum for isobuster, this can read the .ixa image and then extract the files and burn with NERO.worked for me. -
Hmmm, I would think that my burner should be recognized, due to the fact that when I burn DVDs I get this option, and when trying to do so with SVCDs, this option is greyed out.
What about Isobuster: does this keep the menus I have created with DWS or just extract the MPEG file - I already can burn SVCDs with Nero but having no motion menus at all...
I believe there is something wrong with my settings: I have found nobody with this problem -
I'm afraid, that NERO won't keep the menus after extracting with isobuster. Even if I copy exactly the files generated by MF, menus won't play.

well, tried da demo they have on their site, nice lil app.
It wouldn't work with an xvcd, kwag template, but it did, well it accepted my svcd, one cdr 480x480 complaint, was able to pick a background, add thumbnails, add text, create an image (after re-arranging the position of the menus, at first it complained that the chapter entry point were longer than the entry points, or something to that effect), and burn directly with my aopen burner.
When loaded into my apex, the menu did show up along with the thunbnails but they were not working. Pushed 1-6 and no go.
Turned off PBC, push play and it played the movie.
So, im still looking for an app to do simply menus, entry points, etc,,,,
I also tried the Roxio Video Pack 5 - this one did accept both the xvcd and svcd (both on one cdr), was able to make it to the burn disc/image part, but there was an error message at the end of both attempts, burning and image creation.

well I will try and help you fix this..
I tried both factory and workshop demo,s both caused the same problem
get's upto 100% of the burn process and locks up..
yes I emailed ulead but got a bouce back after 5 days routing me to there site for support, but you need to enter a serial number to actually get support > duh.. it,s a demo"
so with no support from ulead I turned to the users here.. here is how I fixed it.. download either dmf or dmw demo,s then download the cdrw patch fix.(nti plugin) now goto device manager and under ide controllers change you cd writer channel to PIO only.. then goto your regedit and look for entries for MMC cdr writing engine under the ulead tree's.
delete them.. now all should work fine..
all said and done.. I wont be buying ulead products due to the POOR support and pre-sales.
Roxio video pack and just about every other cdr burning soft dont have
the above problems I suggest Ulead fix up there pre-sales support and the cd burning engines.
