  1. On VLC website, there are two binary versions of x264 encoder to download:

    - x264-rXXXX-YYYYYYY.exe, and
    - x264-10b-rXXXX-YYYYYYY.exe

    What's the difference between them? What does 10b stand for?

    8 bit and 10 bit.

  3. If you are unsure which to use download the 8 bit one (i.e. "x264-rXXXX-YYYYYYY.exe"). 10 bit has better compression/quality but is incompatible with basically everything that isn't a PC.
