  1. I have got the divx plus application to output to my TV with both the dxr3 and hollywood+ drivers (i have a dxr3) but I have noticed that the output with the HW+ drivers is less choppy than the dxr3. I can't install the HW+ player, I get an error about not being able to see the board.

But my real probem is that the output to my TV (with both drivers) is black and white. I have a PAL system, but when in PAL mode the screen is all garbled, but there is some colour there. With NTSC the screen is in the right place, but no colour.

Has anyone come accross this or knows how to fix it?

    Thanks in advance,
    Gryphon

I had black and white picture when I installed the card the first time. It was the s-video cable (yellow one). You have two types, one with 4 pins(I think it's composite) and one with 7 pins. I can't remember exactly. I first used the 4-pin connector, it came with my WinTV card, and got black and white picture. When I tried the 7-pin connector I got color.

    Hope this helps
    I have PAL.

  3. I have the 7-pin connector with spilts into 2 wires - AV wire and 4-pin wire, i connect the AV to my TV.

    Do you have a dxr3?

    Thanks again,

  4. Hi. In my case, all works just fine. But, I don't know if I can improve the size of the picture shown in my tv. The movies are Widescreen but it doesnt touch the left and the right side of my tv. It's showing right in the middle of it. Also, sound emerge only from my computer speakers. Can anyone please tell me what to do if I want to improve that?

  5. Yep,
All the setting in the H+ effect the display. Fix those, close it, then fire up divxplus and you are all set

  6. Sorry legman, I already tried it. And I've done it again just to be sure before posting this reply. The movie is still playing in the middle of my tv screen. Maybe a newer version of divxplus will help. Will see I hope really soon.

Maybe I'm doing the wrong thing, can you give me more explanations on what you've done to have what I'm looking for? I alson noticed that divxplus worked only when I'm not starting H+ DVD Station before launching it. If I start DVD Station, a hear undesirable noise in my speakers.

  7. Load the h+,

settings tab: no check in fit to screen or keep aspect ratio.

    dvd tab: wide

    run the auto configure

    load a dvd

play it, then set it to tv out

check it is ok on tv

    close it

    run divxplus,

    browse to your file,
choose a file with 640 width

    use divx 311 alpha
do not have divx 4 installed or any other divx codec.

    good luck

Make sure you run the setup exe in the installed dir and reboot before trying the rest.

    good luck

    Hi guys!
Look, I've got amd thunderbird 1100mhz, 256mb, h+, sb-live! 5.1, and I can't use this program! What's wrong, when I start it, all I see is 2 buttons - "play"&"pause", when I click on one of them, I receive this "funny" message:
"DIVXPLUS caused an invalid page fault in
    module DIVXPLUS.EXE at 015f:00401b46."

I have Duron 900 with 512 MB ram, Geforce2Mx and have exactly the same problem. I've seen a posting above with AMD proc has this problem too.
Maybe it's not working with AMD?

  10. Yes! It works! Thanks a lot legman! I wonder one last thing: if I put my files on a cd-r, will I be able to play it through divxplus without any problem or will the picture be lagging, or will it be choppy? I wonder if it can play really smooth on a cd...

Works fine here. Choppy on p2 450 in win2k. In 98se it is fine on the same box. The app auto=hor says use a 500 or better.

  13. great site this is i did a search and found all your questions and answers

Guess What i got it to work

    first of all
    System is thbird 1000 running on a a7v mb using a asus gforce2gts pure hollywood + sounblaster 1024 win2000OS

    ***********************************
note..If you have a pal tv you need the little Svideo composit cable .

After installing this program at first i had just a little box with buttons no pulldown on the *LITTLE SCREEN*
and then an error same that it was wrong and should close down

I have uninstalled it twice and seen that te srender file does not go into the systems folder NOTE !!!!!

This time i tried all of your tricks .plus a few of my own.

first i uninstalled win media 7
second installed codac 3.11 but i did not *** take there older drivers *****
ran the set up for divx plus again and placed a copy of the render file in the system folder aswell ******note
I did not remove the render file in the systems 32folder

i then started my hollywood station win2000 version
but i did not chose a film
i then started Divx player it opened the search folder so i choose a film and paused it .
I then started divxplayer no 2 choose the same film ithen used the pull down and changed it to pal as i have a pal tv .
you get the pull down by right clicking on the little blue divxplayer sign .......
I then changed the other player to pal aswell and clicked play .

note you must then close the second player or you get a double film on your screen .

I tried to delete the srender from the sys32 folder.
    The program needs it there
I tried deleting it from thre systems folder .

NO keep it the program needs it you will not get the search folder without the srender i both the systems folder and the systems 32 folder .

note the sound will not work asit is normaly mp3 and the sound on the holly station is stero or souround sound. So you have to play your sound through your sound card

Now i have only one problem that is to get the picture in the middle of the screen

    well thatsanother story

The way to see AVI on the TV who early see only black scren:
    1. Start DivxPlus player and select AVI file.
    2. Push the PLAY button. You have nothing on the TV(black or some haotic line).
    3. Push the PAUSE button.
    4. Start second copy of DivxPlus player(do not close first copy player!) and select AVI.
    5. Push the PLAY button. Viola, you have picture on the TV.
For my TV all AVI(DiVx) films divade(horizontal) on 2 not equal part. Right 1/3 part of films situated on left part of screen and 2/3 remaining part offset to right.

  21. Yes Peter,

Here in France we are still trying to make this DivXplus on...it seem there is many compliance problems...with CPU, video card... motherboard, and maybe video card !!!
Following is a very small list of the PC compatibility running with with DXR3:

    A-CPU=Celeron 433/MB=QDI exellent X1/!VC=SiS TV out 8Mo/SB16 pci
==>the best result(CPU not powerfull enought)of our tests with full compliance of the H+ drivers, DVD stating running without problemes beforeand atyer running DivXplus...

    B- CPU=Celeron 466/MB?/VC= S3virge = same as the 1 one...

    C-CPU= AMD-K7@550/MB=EPOX MVP3C...
work perfectly with both card H+ and DXR3...

I read here that a P3@733 work to, plz confirm...
for info, the list of the CPU with compliance problem=
    P3@1ghz , Duron800, TBird 1200, TBird 1200...
If this forum can complete this as Peter say , it would be Great !

    Thanks everybody !

I'm using Win200 Server on a PIII 600MHz, 630MB SDRAM, Creative DXR-3 and everytime I run DivxPlus I get the "browse" window to select a file and when I select one and press ok the program ends! I've got the DivX MPEG4 codec installed! Isn't there any other programs that can playback AVI movies on the TV?

I don't think DivXPlus is compatible with DivX4. I think it only works with DivX 3.11alpha.

  26. If I set my processor clock on 500 I get a normal image on my tv, but the movie is stuttering, because the processor isn't fast enough.
So it obviously a speed issue, why people get the 1/3 split screen.
Know I have to find the max. speed at which it's working.

  27. I got it working now but on some movies I get a 100% cpu usage and the picture is stuttering, should it do that on a PIII 600MHz with 630MB SDRAM and a 30GB 7200rpm HD?

It does work with the Creative Dxr-3 too! I tried it and it played a DivX from archive.org and a simple .mov

It only outputs on the video out, not in VGA overlay so I had to get a composite monitor. The sizing/invert works fine. Frame rate on a P3/733/133MHz bus/256MB machine was fine, no noticable jitter.

Problems noted: Opening a complex .mov generated faults like this:
    Windows 98 Version 4.10.2222
DIVXPLUS caused an invalid page fault in
    module DIVXPLUS.EXE at 017f:00401b46.

Examples are Phantom Menance Quicktime 480 and Star Trek Insurrection (which I thought was tame).
