  1. Hi there.Have just about got my head around this conversion thing.
One question though,is there an easy way to calculate the time that the film will be once it has been converted WITHOUT actually converting it?
    Cheers for any help.

  2. Yes, it is called a calculator. Very very very simple to do what you are asking. Say your NTSC movie is at 29.97FPS and goes for 90 minutes and 50 seconds.

    OK, 90 minutes is 5400 seconds, + 50, so your movie is 5450seconds in length @ 29.97FPS.

Goto your calculator, divide 5450 by 29.97, and multiply the result by 25 (the pal frequency). Your result would be 4546 seconds.

Really, anyone over the age of 12 should know this.

Don't give it a second thought; some kids can't post anything without tossing in at least one unhelpful (and unimaginative) insult. Check out their profile, and go through their previous posts - you'll find them asking about numerous things that "anyone over the age of 12 should know ".
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."
