My friend installed avconv.exe on my computer without knowing it (sigh...) but in fact it's because download helper proposed it.

Is avconv.exe a big of help and useful?

    Or is it risked?

I noticed that my computer overheated a little more than usually, thus if it's risked how can I uninstall avconv.exe?

Only positive point for the moment, is that download helper proposes more choices of conversion...

avconv is a branch of ffmpeg - it's basicly a command line audio/video converter. No risks, no problems

Video conversion / transcoding requires alot of the CPU, thus it gets hot - this is absolutely normal. Why your download / conversion fails, I do not know. You might want to find a way to disable video conversion in downloadhelper if you do not want it.

  7. I recommend uninstalling downloadhelper because re-encoding is ABSOLUTELY not required! (you waste time and you get stupid watermark). Try Video Downloader professional plugin instead.

Just go to video downloadhelper settings and remove the converter - problem solved. You do not need to convert downloaded files.
