  1. Hey guys, I am wanting to rip a non copyprotected DVD to my hard drive, it is 4.19GB but when I open the folder there is only one VOB file that is 194MB. The whole DVD plays fine when I right click play with VLC media player on the folder. Anyone know what's up?

How did you get the 194MB size? Try using MediaInfo to see what it says about the file.
If all else fails, VLC can also transcode to a different format.

  3. Thanks will try that.

Here's a few pics of what I mean. It only shows one VOB file in the folder.

You would probably want to use VLC's record function (the record button has a red dot for its icon) while playing the DVD to create an mpg file containing an exact copy of the video and audio read from the DVD. Note that this takes place in real time and there is no way to speed it up.

The free VOB2MPG could also work for creating an mpg with an exact copy of the audio and video, if it can read the DVD.

ISOBuster's paid version might be able to recover the entire contents of DVD, but the cost would be prohibitive.

Sounds copy-protected to me. That or faulty media. Try the recommended apps.
