I recently was able to make a Blu-ray of some HD content from my DVR. I did this by using a Hauppauge Colossus video card In my PC, recorded it in .ts format using the supplied WinTV software provided. I then cut out the commercials and did a "quickstream fix" using VideoRedo. I then took that file, and authored it to BD using multiAVCHD, and then burned it to disc using imgburn.
On the authoring and burning, I am pretty new using both of those, so I left them mostly in the default settings. I did have imgburn do a "verify", I did click that button.
The problem is in playback. I recently picked up a Pioneer BDP-62FD Bluray player. I also have a PS3 I play Blu Rays on. I tried the disc first on the Pioneer, and the playback was mildly "choppy". It just had a slight stutter to it, it seemed more noticeable on scenes of greater horizontal motion, but it was irritating to a degree.
Just for kicks, I slapped it in the PS3 and it played beautiful.
I checked to see if the Pioneer needed a firmware update, it did, so I updated it. No difference.
Has anyone run into anything like this before? Is the PS3 just more forgiving, so to speak? Is it something I didn't do right in multiAVCHD? Other retail discs play great in the pioneer, but my homemade one, not so much.
I guess I'm concerned that I didn't set up the authoring correctly, or optimally. Some day the PS3 may die, and I will depend on my Pioneer. If I don't figure this out, it won't be pretty.
I just want to make the best disc I can, in short. Am I doing anything wrong? Anybody had or heard about a similar situation?
Thank you

Can you post the video details from the m2ts that multiAVCHD made? Use mediainfo, open m2ts, view->text, copy everything.
-
Yes, I'm at work presently, but will post it in a few hours when I get home.

here is the media info from one of the streams:

I may be wrong but.....
If your folder structure \AVCHD\BDMV\.... carries on to the burnt disk it is a AVCHD disk you have made and not a fully-compliant Blu-ray.
I recall reading here at some time that these disks are close to fully-compliant but some players do have issues with them.
That being said, the quoted bitrate is Blu-ray and higher than the AVCHD spec allows.
So the issue may simply be media related and your Pioneer is not reading the disk as well as the PS3. -
And 15-frame GOPs aren't valid for BluRay.

I think I did everything right when I authored it. I selected BDAV when it was time to make a selection, the media info at the top says "BDAV" for format, and "BluRay Video" for format/info. But apparently there are other indications that point away from it being Blu.
Was there something in the setup options in multiAVCHD that I didn't set right possibly?
Puzzling. -
Did you select blu-ray disc as your output in multiavchd?
I think,therefore i am a hamster. -
Did you burn it as udf 2.5?
There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway. -
-
If this is in regards to imgburn, then yes. I didn't mess with anything except selecting "verify" and it defaults to udf 2.5.
If there is a selection in multiAVCHD for this (I didn't see one) then I missed it. -
Yes I did mean the option in imgburn and udf 2.5 is correct.
I never saw the need to use the BD option you did when creating videos with my own simple menus using MultiAVCHD so I always choose AVCHD (strict) when I use that program.
That said it could also be an issue with the disc itself. One player might read it fine and another choke on it.There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.
