I am having serious problems running avi's from my pc.
The quality is crystal clear but I am getting so peed-off with the skipping of video and audio all the time. It seems to get worse as time goes on.
It also happens when i convert to a mpeg and burn to make a vcd. I must have wasted 15 cds over the last few days!
Will a full defrag of my hard drive improve the video running and stop the skipping of video & audio? Will closing progammes open at the same time (virus s/w etc) have an improved affect also?
Please can someone help.??
My system specs:
Intel P3-900
Nvidia GEforce 3 ti200
Sound blaster live
Via Chipset

No it will not. You say it is happening when you burn to CD, then you are having problems in video encoding i would imagine. Try to make sure you are encoding in the correct frame rate. thats my wild guess.

Thanks for a quick reply.
It is also happening to the original avi file (planet of the apes) when playing it from my pc.
The video seems to speed up suddenly, skips by a split second and goes back to normal speed. This makes the audio totally out of sync and makes it look like a 1970 kung fu flick!!
Can you advise.....
