Is there anyway to trim video using VirtualDub (i.e. cut away the very top portion of the frame ala TMPGEnc)? I want to know this so I can get rid of certain unwanted deformities at the endges of the video. Plus, using VirtualDub, is there anyway to encode videos in MPEG-1 VideoCD mode instead of AVI?
Thanks.

Check out the various VD filters at

You can use the smart resize or logo filter for your purpose.
As for VCD encoding, VDub cannot do it. You have to frameserve from VDub to another encoder like TMPGEnc (see the how to section).
