    hi
    may i ask 3 questions?

    1)
can premiere render with a Third-party program ?
i'm asking it because i would like to render some video in Matroska Media Container

    2)
do you use in media encoder the option preview enabled ?
i know it makes faster the rendering but is the quality the same with preview turned on or off

    3)
and if i want to edit the same video with different video editor softwares, which is the container that doesn't lose quality

    thanks

You can use debugmode frameserver to serve your timeline to external encoders that will accept it. I know TMPGenc Video Master Works can turn the output into an mkv -- no luck on this side with mkvtoolnix or ffmpeg. You can also export an mp4 from premiere and simply remux that as mkv with other tools.

It makes absolutely no difference in time or quality.

It's more dependent on the codec than the container. (Even Premiere can smart render certain codec/container combinations -- but it's mainly pro formats like mxf-Op1a.) The two most popular simple smart rendering editors are VideoRedo and TMPGenc Smart Renderer.

    hi
but i read in the adobe page
Using existing preview files can make encoding much faster. The disadvantage, however, is that the preview files may have been encoded using different settings than those used for the rest of the sequence—for example, the preview files may have been encoded using lossy compression.
    thanks smrpix

  4. Download and install Debugmode Frameserver and allow it to install the included Adobe Premiere plug-in.

When you're ready to export, it will show up as one of the drop down options.

Preview files created during editing are a different matter than than clicking the preview option in Adobe Media Encoder. The two are unrelated.

  5. The "use previews" checkbox in AME uses the previews from a sequence exported from PP. Just mouse over it, there should be tool tips for everything. But if you import a video directly into AME, and not PP sequence, then it's unrelated

In PP, the sequence settings tab will have a section called "video previews". That's what is used if the box in AME is checked. By default I think it's I-frame only MPEG. If you set it to something lossless like ut video codec if you have it installed, there would be no additional compression lossess in AME when you have that box check

to use them with premiere cc 2015 , should install Ut Video Codec Suite and invoke it via Debugmode FrameServer ?

No, the reason for using debugmode is to avoid using rendering intermediate files. It's both to save time and storage space. (instead of encoding a lossless intermediate, then using that as input into the other program, then encoding it again)

If you want to encode using ut video you can use it directly in AME

Lossless codecs require lots of storage space (filesizes very large compared to lossy compressed files)

When I want to include a Proshow Producer slideshow in a Premiere edit, I just render to AVI uncompressed. Huge files possible, like poisondeathray stated.
