  1. Hello There
I need some experts help. I want to convert a video file from a dvd without the original audio (dvd is in Chinese) Then I have a different dvd, but I just want to rip the audio only from that dvd (audio is thai, thai dubbed chinese movie. video quality is bad) Then sync both converted video and audio into one file, then burn into a dvd disc and watch it. Does anyone know how to do it?

It can be done relative easy, you can rip both DVDs with MakeMKV, then use mkvtoolnix to merge, for this mkvtoolnix contains a GUI, then you only need a DVD authoring software with mkv input support, I can't tell you much about DVD authoring software.

I would also check that both videos are -exactly- the same length or you will have sync problems. Often two versions of the same DVD video are different lengths. You should be able to check the video files with MediaInfo for length and format.

And there are several free authoring programs available if you want to go back to a DVD format.
AVStoDVD is one and others are listed under 'Authoring (DVD)' in our 'Tools..' section to the left.

I also changed your topic title to more describe your subject. Please read our rules before posting.

    And welcome to our forums.

What you're asking is simple, but I suspect there's more to be considered than you think. As mentioned, you have to have two exactly the same cuts of the movie - same framerate and number of frames.

Anyway, with the DVDs decrypted to the hard drive (needed to break the encryption, if they're encrypted), extract the video/M2V from one and the audio from the other using PGCDemux. Reauthor for DVD using Muxman. If the audio winds up out of synch by the same amount all the way through after you're finished, that's easy to fix. If the audio is off by different amounts at different places in the movie, then not so easy.

And one might ask why stick dubbed audio into a movie to begin with. That's what subtitles are for.
