I'm using Video To Video Converter to convert some mkv files.
I want the conversion to be as good as the source, so I'm not worried about file size.
Afterwards, I'll be joining the 3 files together.

Under the HDTV tab, I see I can use MP4 or TS, which type is better, or will it matter?

Use mkv2mp4 if you want mp4 instead and you might not have to reconvert your video.

Or else use mp4 with h264 video.

Or use copy mode in video to video converter.
