Basically i want to edit two MP4 videos together and then merge them into a single video file, without compressing. Can it be done?

  2. You can use mkvmerge. Add one file, then use append, you will end up with one mkv file.
Or you can use mp4box with the -cat command.
Or you can use ffmpeg with the concat command, using copy for the audio and video codecs.

I use a software called Free Video Editor to cut the sections. You have to be careful installing the program since it is bundleware and will install other programs unless you tell it not to.

You could try MyMP4Box GUI or Yamb to combine the sections but I have better luck with MKVmerge and the append button to join and save as MKV and then ffmpeg to convert to MP4 if needed.

All of this is done without re-encoding anything. Free Video Editor isn't frame accurate but from my experience, it works better than other free software I've tried.

Another option is to use Virtualdub with x264vfw installed and either Direct Stream Copy (not frame accurate) into x264.avi or Smart Render which only recodes where the cuts are (also x264.avi). By saving as avi, Virtualdub should be able to append the resulting avi segments and Direct Stream Copy into one larger avi that can then be converted to mp4 using either mp4box or ffmpeg.

Or avidemux, open first mp4, append the other, cut, save. And see it crash....
