  1. Been trying to test out upscaling 2k to 4k for the sake of achieving higher bitrates and lower compression on youtube even when the source and destination are both 2k screens, assuming viewer manually selects the 4k option despite them having 2k screen.

    However it seems avidemux only goes up to 2900 px width (how such limitation even make sense??). Anyways, which software do you recommend to perform 4k upscale? Preferably something with GUI.

    ffmpeg, maybe Xmedia-recode as a GUI, I haven't tried it.
    It's not important the problem be solved, only that the blame for the mistake is assigned correctly

  3. Avisynth with nnedi3_rpow2 is probably the best method for upscaling 2K to 4K that is free.
