    Hi

I'm trying to convert the Mission: Impossible II PAL DVD to MP4 using VidCoder, but it always fails at the same point (1h 7m). I ripped the DVD with DVD Shrink in Re-author mode selecting only the main movie, english sound track and portuguese subtitles. Sice it is a 2001 DVD, DVD Shring doesn't seem to have any problem ripping it.

I also tried ripping with DVDFab in Movie Only mode selecting the same audio and subtitle, but the result was the same: rip was OK, but VidCoder failed.

I would appreciate if anyone could take a look at the log and maybe find something in it that shows why VidCoder is failing.

    Thanks

    Code:

The original DVD as well as the ripped VIDEO_TS folder play just fine with VLC. The point where VidCoder fails is precisely at a scene change, but it plays OK.

    Thanks

You can try running the ripped DVD through FixVTS and see if that helps.

I ran FixVTS on the folder that was ripped with DVD Shrink, but it didn't help. Then I used DVD Decrypter in File mode to rip the entire DVD, but VidCoder failed again, before and after running FixVTS.

I don't get it. Usualy, DVDs from that period are pretty easy to backup.

  6. I also have similar problem on other DVD
To fix this, I simple extracted Mpeg2 file from DVD with Vob2mpg
then encoded mpg file with Handbrake

Thanks. IT WORKED. I used VidCoder instead of Handbrake (I find it easier to use) and it converted the MPG without any trouble. Thanks again.
