  3. What I learned from a website of PotPlayer's Polish translator is:
(Google translator with a few corrections) It is associated with granting the certificate for PotPlayer by VeriSign. Therefore, at specified intervals CRL is checked online via Windows CryptoAPI.
    CRL (Certificate Revocation List): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revocation_list
Without an Internet connection, PotPlayer will wait for a response from the Akamai network (CDN). So, do not reject calls from Akamai (try to change your firewall settings). I'm not sure if it's only reason that you have to wait those few / several seconds to turn on.

    Certificate confirmation and expiration status:.
Right-click on PotPlayer.dll (.exe) file -> Properties -> Digital Signatures tab -> click Details -> click View certificate -> Details tab -> Extended error information
PotPlayer has now increased protection against adverse effects. Because of growing popularity of PotPlayer it becomes a victim of hacking and Some antiviruses notify that its files are suspicious/infected.

A solutions proposed by one user (I'm not sure how it might influence Windows security in general) is:
Disabling CRL checking on Windows level proved to solve the problem of certificates:
Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Advanced -> click Security -> uncheck Check for publisher's certificate revocation.
    * please do this only after installing and running PotPlayer - Windows must at least once download/check certificate.
    Now PP loads immediately.

  4. thanks AllisOne
    this solution worked for me:
Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Advanced -> click Security -> uncheck Check for publisher's certificate revocatio

but isn't any way without uncheck...?
and with uncheck , security is compromised?

  5. As I said I'm not sure. We need to wait for expert's opinion.

  7. I don't know. Maybe it's only displayed when the certificate couldn't get retrieved from the net.

  8. thanks god
    i found solution

right click in pot player screen --> about --> check for updates and done

now all files opens without delay.

and no need to uncheck "Check for publisher's certificate revocation"

  9. Thanks for the hints, Hamid3pnn, AllisOne.

In my case I had to go to Preferences -> General; Update: Never

Perhaps like me you block PotPlayer with your firewall and it tries to update.

  10. I've always had Preferences -> General; Update set to Never and I do updates manually, so it wasn't my case. Glad it works for you.

Thanks Allis and Hamid for the tips, it seems to load a little faster now

Edit: this link might give some info on what disabling the revocation is about:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/c2135c7b-cfb2-452b-96fc-164af...serversecurity

If I understand it correctly it should only be a problem if you're in a corporate network as at-home use generally doesn't include getting applications rolled out from a server or group policy.

  12. When I deny internet access to potplayer in firewall, delay when opening video file is ~15 sec.
This helped (now files are opened immediately):
Go to "Control panel", "Internet settings"
In "Connections" tab open "Local area settings"
    Uncheck "Automatically detect settings"
