I'm using Avidemux 2.6.10 for Mac and all .ASS subtitle files I put in together with .mp4 videos won't get hardsubbed (a.k.a source video and exported video looks exactly the same, no subtitle texts).
I used the same method, the same .ASS files and .mp4 video files on my work PC (Windows 7) and it works flawlessly, but strangely not on my Mac. I tried previewing after attaching the subtitle filter, but it always crashes after a few seconds instead (the subtitle still didn't even appear on the preview).
Anyone knows what's wrong?I'm very new to hardsubbing, and I have to hardsub .ASS files to .mp4 videos to keep the styles and formatting, so no converting it to .SRT for me.

Have you tried with older versions of avidemux? https://www.videohelp.com/software/AviDemux/old-versions#download (dmg versions)

I did, but I'm not sure if I'm downloading the wrong versions or anything, it still doesn't work. What version would you recommend, or are they all the same? Or do you have any other program suggestions? Thank you in advance.
