I am just curious what you folks are using for backups to HDD. I have 2TB of storage capacity on this external HDD. Would I be better off using BD25 or BD9? I figure I can always get more hard drive space, but ripping is a time-consuming process and I should only do it once.

You can use any optical media for backing up rips you have converted to data files, as long as it has sufficient capacity. There is DVD 9 and BD 25, but I have not seen BD 9. BD 25 and DVD 9 cost about the same, but since BD 25 has more capacity, it is a better choice. ISO and file/folder backups have to be burned to matching optical media.**
[Edit]**Assuming that you want the backup disc to be playable in a suitable hardware player. Otherwise, I guess you could burn ISO and file/folder backups as data.Last edited by usually_quiet; 12th Aug 2015 at 13:31.
