I realize that there is at least one other thread on issues with this device, drivers, etc. but mine seems to be different.
I am trying to capture off of a Hi8 Camcorder that has both composite and S-Video outputs. I get video, and sound (Vista 32bit PC) but the video is distorted, black and white and flickering like the old "Horizontal hold" is off on the old CRT TVs if you are that old. What is odd to me is that the video displayed on the Camcorder screen is perfect. I have tried messing with all of the ULead apps video settings, and nothing changes. I downloaded the driver package for Win7/Vista and installed it.
Any other suggestions of what to try? I really want to capture this video. If there is some other reasonably priced SW that will do it if ULead can't, I'd buy something.
I can post a capture link if that helps. Thanks in advance for any help. I also have a Win8.1 laptop that I use for editing, but I have long since given up getting Sabrent/ULead to run on that.

It's quite common for capture devices to have problems syncing to less than perfect vdieo signals. Different capture software will still use the same driver so it will still have the same probelm. You'll need a different capture device or a time base corrector.
