I need avise on what to do , aside from getting a new tv set or even component cable is not an option iam willing to use. I have heard that some Splitters will remove the HDCP but I know nothing about splitters or decoders so can some give me help here. Thanks

  2. There's a big thread here about HDCP strippers with links to several devices, most sold in the USA, some in the UK I believe. Beware that devices that look identical may not remove HDCP.

HDCP compliance has been common on TVs since 2006. A seven-year old Sony LCD TV should be HDCP compliant. Streaming media players (Roku, Fire TV, Chromecast), DVD players, Blu-Ray players, cable boxes, and satellite receivers apply HDCP to their HDMI connections. If you can use HDMI to connect the TV with any of those, then the TV is HDCP compliant.

The problem could be an unusual HDMI handshaking issue, a defective HDMI port on the PS3, the settings you are using on the PS3, or something else. A splitter that removes HDCP will not necessarily correct the problem, but this is what I used for time-shifting TV shows from an HDCP protected cable box: http://www.amazon.ca/ViewHD-Powered-Splitter-1080P-VHD-1X2MN3D/dp/B004F9LVXC/

I visited support page for your TV https://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=KDL32S2010

Your TV is HDCP compliant. In the System Capability & Compatibility section on that page, there is this question: "Is my TV compatible with HDCP technology?" Sony answered the question with the following statement: "All Sony® TVs with an HDMI® connection support HDCP."

However, your TV only supports up to 1080i video input, so if you happen to have the PS3 set to output 1080p, the TV won't display a picture. Some with your TV have found that performing a reset on the PS3 solved their PS3 HDMI connectivity problems. Connect the PS3 to the TV with HDMI. Shut off your PS3. Hold down the power button until you see something on the screen. Re-configure its video settings for HDMI to be compatible with your TV.

[Edit]I forgot to mention, that since the KDL-32S2010's screen is 1366 x 768 pixels, 720p is probably the best setting to use for the PS3's HDMI output.

That's exactly what I was going to check, the screens native resolution AND what resolution the PS3 is configured to use.
