I use Mac OSX and Toast to burn my VCDs. It used to be that when I dropped an mpeg (VCD ready) on the toast icon, it burned it to VCD and played fine in my Apex AD-800. Now, those discs and ones that I can still make that way are recognized by the 5131 (it says "play" at the top), but I get no a/v. However, SVCD's that popped and hiss in the 800, play beautifully in the 5131. Any mac users out there know how to get these to play? I use GNU vcdtoolsX and if the original is a bin file that toast doesn't like at first, I use vcdXrip then vcdXbuild on the resulting .xml file and burn in Multitrack-XA mode. This process works great only if the bin or mpeg returns an error when dropped on the VCD option of toast. If toast accepts the original bin or mpeg, I get a recognizable but unplayable disc.
Also, even though the manual says that it plays Jpeg slideshow, I have never had a disc I burned play. It may be that I am missing something, but I burned the disc as an ISO-9660 format and even though it sees the jpeg files, it doesn't play them. Any ideas would be great on this also.
Thanks.
