Hello, first timer on this website. I would be truly grateful to anyone who could help me. Okay so here is my problem...

I've been wanting to create a type of mortal kombat fight video between two characters in a movie and with health bars above them. Each time one is hit the health goes down.

I used this video for inspiration https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deiz9MnSYOU

But the thing is im kinda new to editing and I have the sound effects and downloading the video down but have no idea how to put a health bar into the video and how to make the health go down.

    Please can somebody help me

  2. It's pretty easy to do in almost any video editor .

The easiest way to do it IMO is to use overlays. You have one full health version (full green), and one zero health version (full red). An animated mask "reveals" the red version over time. There are several variations on how to do this (eg. you can do layer animation itself instead of a mask), but it depends on which editor you are using. If you specify what software you are using, you can probably get more specific help

The "hard" part getting the timing down to where you want the health to go down , timed to hits / punches/ damage etc... but even that isn't very difficult

  3. Attached zip file is a demo using AviUtl.
Layer1 is a rectangle with red-yellow gradient. Size is constant throughout the video.
Layer2 is a green rectangle on top. This object is divided into sections/keyframes and change the X-coordinate of an attached rectangle mask at arbitrary time.
