Hello there! I hope u can help me, cause I am lost! I am trying to make a SVCD, but I always get the "sync" problem! My video source is a DivX Tombraider movie. I first convert the audio file to WAV, and then convert the video (only) to AVI; both using VirtualDub. I encode with TMPENG, and the result is a huge "sync" problem. When I play the WAV and the AVI, I see two problems:
. first, the WAV file seems corrupcted, it makes some "crack" noises (very subtle);
. second, the WAV file runs faster than the AVI file...how come if they have the same duration! Bellow are the specifications of the files:
DIVX VIDEO
dutarion: 100min 33.908s
video: 576X240, 24 bits, 144669 frames, 23.976 f/s DIVXMPG4 V3
audio: MPEG layer-3,141kBit/s, 48,000HZ, stereo
AVI - virtualdub
duration: 100min 33.908s
Video: 576X240, 24bits, 144669 frames 23.976 f/s 92KB/s, DIVXMPG4 V3
WAV file
duration: 100min 33.44s
audio: PCM, 44.100HZ; 16 Bit; Stereo
I would apreciate any tips!

How about loading the DivX up in VirtualDub, then set both the audio and video to "Direct Stream Copy" and start up the frameserver.
Then, use TMPGEnc to encode the Video and Audio separately, then use bbMPEG to join them back together? (I like bbMPEG personally as TMPGEnc always gives me bad sync when using it to mux files).
I've never done this myself, but its been reported before that sync problems happen when doing it the way you are (splitting the file using VDub). -
Thanks! But I think if I do what u say, I will get a encoded audio file...will tpemg convert it to m2p file?

Encode audio and video separately using TMPGEnc,
then you'll end up with an .m2v file (video) and an .mp2 file (audio, which TMPGEnc will produce for you). Simply multiplex the two together with bbMPEG and you should have an SVCD-able mpeg
