  1. Hello,

I use mkvmerge extensively -- it is a very convenient tool for me.

However, I notice no track appears under "General track options" Tab -- no audio/video track at all!

I tried under MKVMerge from version 7 to 8.0 (latest 8.2 is for Vista and later OS).

    No results.

    What has gone wrong?

    Please help.

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

The info below "General track Options" Tab is blank and the fields are greyed out.

  4. Is it only that video that has a problem? Try another video to see if it works . eg. try a random mp4 downloaded from youtube

Maybe try an even older version of mkvmerge

I think XP compatibility was restored in 8.0. I don't have XP so I cannot test it but roma_turok's screenshot made with 8.2.0 under Windows XP seems to confirm this. If you get 8.2.0 it will bring along a completely new GUI called "MKVToolNix GUI". The old one will be removed in a future version so you might as well just start using the new one.

    Bingo!

    Your suggestion worked

I keep screen fonts big to avoid eye-strain but many tools/applications don't seem to understand and appreciate my choice
It goes even for other versions of OSes.

    Thanks

    @sneaker

Thanks for the input. I'll try it.

Yes, MKVTools 8.2 works under Windows XP.
