I'm evaluating this for backing up purposes. Does this use Intel Quick Sync? It seems like it encodes awfully quick compared to Handbrake and DVDFab (I have BDRB set on the Slow setting). The reason I ask is because I don't want it to use Intel Quick Sync, I want it to use CPU encoding (i.e. x264). Either way, it seems like it is far and away better than DVDFab too at encoding quality.
Can anyone shed light on this?
Also, should I be using DRC when re-encoding the audio from a lossless source to DD 5.1?
Thanks

Not sure about Quick Sync, but you select the encoder to use, except when doing 3D
