I am wondering if the Elgato Game Capture HD is able to take a 1080p source and output (to my pc) a video at 720p at 60 frames per second. To be able to use the 720p60 capabilities of the Game Capture HD does the source HAVE to also be 720p or can it be a 1080p source which the Elgato then processes into 720p60? Or with a 1080p signal is it always limited to 30 fps regardless of the resolution selected in the Elgato software? I can't seem to find an answer on this anywhere I look, and I have asked amazon answers but I'm not sure how trustworthy that is.

    Thank you.

    Yes.

Unfortunately, it decimates to 1080p30 first, then downsizes to 720p30.

Although I haven't tried this in a few years. Maybe things have changed.

Thank you SO much for the quick answers! This is the first time I've truly been able to find an answer for this haha. I will most likely get the HD60 version then since it's only like $15 or so more now. Thanks again!
