Never used that program. Most on here would use avstodvd.

Basically, you have 3 options (do not know if that prog supports any)

    1. Create a DL disk. Then you can preserve some quality with a higher bitrate
    2. Create a SL disk in half-D mode. That allows you to reduce the bitrate. Six hours on one disk would still be pushing it though
    3. Create a VCD-mode disk - that is what dvd-recorders use for such lengths. But really results will be poor.

Putting six hours of video on one 4.7 GB DVD normally requires reducing the resolution to 352 x 288. I don't think Windows DVD Maker can do that, and even if it could, you wouldn't like how it looks.

[Edit]I did try Windows DVD Maker, but I don't remember it very well. I do recall that its settings are very limited, that it has templates for interesting motion menus (which took quite a while to create), and that it didn't perform the colorspace conversion correctly when converting HDTV recordings to DVD.

i agree i really would lose quality but its ok as its just to tape some shows daily off of youtube and then discard the dvd . i also belive your
right i doubt it can be done with windows . i didt it daily for over a year using freemake video 8 hours worth and it was really good but then a couple days ago i find out it infected my pc with virus . thank you much for all your help much appreciated .

What file format do you use to record from YouTube? It might be possible to replace the DVD player with a media player that plays files from USB sticks. Is that something that would interest you?

You want to save YouTube videos so you can play them on a TV?

So then buy a player with YouTube access.

$37.69 with minor wear and scratches.

Not so fast... Blu-Ray licensing requirements forced the gradual elimination of analog connections. Although many Blu-Ray players can play media files (with limitations) and play videos from YouTube, there are none with those features made after 2012 with composite video and stereo audio ports that would allow the player to be used with an older TV. That player (a Sony BDP-BX320) will only work with a TV that has HDMI connections.

Most media players no longer have composite out either. I found one that does, but it is very cheap, and not well constructed. I need to keep looking. What is your budget?

Be warned, newpball does not think people should be using old TVs at this point, and often deliberately suggests solutions that will not work with one even when he knows that is what someone has. This amuses him for some strange reason.
