  1. This is the new Panasonic AG-DVX200 4k video cam, sports a nice size 4/3 sensor and shoots 4k @ 50/60p, plus a really nice size slide out screen on the handle.

Really is different looking to the usual Panasonic (and other brand) video cams from the past, and i am seriously looking into test driving one of these very soon.

    http://shop.panasonic.com/about-us-latest-news-press-releases/041315-ag-dvx200-4k.html

Just trying to find out if the 5 Axis Image Stabilization works while shooting in 4k mode, because some of these video cams can't, only done in 1080p mode ?

I am currently looking for some real sample video taken direct from this camera, or at least some 4k video from Youtube that i can download, so if anyone can locate some for me, please let me know here in this thread.

    Interesting!

Looks like a practical camera, even basic studio, with all the needed bells and whistles.

UHD @ 60p, wow you better get a fast computer!

An ideal Studio camera, broadcast camera, great for weddings, corporate videos, documentaries, and it has a decent sensor for a traditional camcorder, not much to dislike in this camera, and thanks to you for bringing it to our attention in the other thread.

Sadly it is not available in Australia yet, however its lower cost baby sister is the HC-X1000 which comes in at au$4000, shoots 4k @ 150Mbps, even 1080/50p All-Intra @ 200Mbps, but still only has the old 1/2.3 mos sensor, which for me is a let down, because it is time for all manufactures to pull their fingers out and get serious about bigger sensors in these types of video cams, least panasonic did it with the 4/3 sensor in the DVX200.

Again, what are you on about, or should i ask, what is your POINT ???????????????

You either have this stupid habit of biting with stupid one liners that makes no sense, or you carry on like a pork chop talking about shit that you know nothing about.

  10. If it's not enough bitrate, you can use an external recorder . For some scenarios the internal recording won't be enough

@glenpinn - You do have the option to ignore the bait...

Indeed, I'd say 200Mbps is the reasonable minimum.

Rather than you just coming into this thread and posting That's cutting it a bit thin why not extend us the courtesy of explaining to us exactly what you meant by that comment.

I see, after all that vitriol against me you feel you have enough class to talk about extending courtesies...

I make no apologies for anything i have said to you, or about you, however All i wanted from you right from the beginning was more information about why you posted that silly one liner that you gave us.

If you are incapable of explaining what you actually meant, then why say anything at all ?

  15. Seems to be some new Youtube Videos appearing on the Net with footage shot using this new DVX200 Cam.

It is a real shame that some of this 4k footage is downscaled to 1080p and put that up into youtube, some of it is coming down at only 1.5 to 3Mbps when i download their videos.

Yes it still looks very nice, but gee how sad they are not giving us the 4k video in youtube at a decent Bitrate.

This one is the only true 4k sample that i could find, shot in 4k/25p @ 19.0Mbps (recorded externally in Prores 4.2.2 on Atomos Shogun)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aU7WyzZXDu0

    DVX200 4k-24p @ 1080 @ 2.7Mbps
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WYvyYTtjAk

    DVX200 4k-24p @ 1080 @ 2.5Mbps
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zza1pO18kbs

    DVX200 4k-24p @ 1080 @ 1.6Mbps
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KXw4tao0sI

I still wish these Camera manufacturers would bring back the tripple sensors, like i have in my SDT750 Cams (3x 1/4.1 CMOS, or 3MOS as some people call them)

Or like the older Mini DV Cams that had the 3CCD Sensors in them.
