hi there,
Ive downloaded a divx file, got it playing and now want to burn it.Thats where i have the trouble.I am using nero to encode it,which it does fine, but then it says the source cd is not big enough to hold all the file.I already new it wasnt but had hoped it would ask me for another cd when the first was full.Is there a way to split the file into two so ican burn two seperate files or is there something in the settings i can change?.
I am using Nero 5.5.6.4
The file is just over 700mb but is well over 90min long
Cd's are 700 mb at 80min
Please help its very frustrating to get so close yet so far![]()

Ok, first, use TMPGEnc to encode, not Nero!, and secondly, an 80min CDR can contain upto 800mb in VideoCD format, and a 90min CDR can hole upto 900mb.

thanks for the reply sefy,
I knew that the 700mb file would fit on one disk but its the minutes it plays for wont. You suggested tryng TMPEGnc, where do i get it?.Will it encode different to nero?.Will it help to fit the file onto one disk?.Is it freeware?.I get the feeling that i should be somehow splitting the file into two,is this not right?. -
Hi Maureen,
If you want to maintain quality as much as possible, it would be best you put it on 2 CD's, you can use TMPGEnc to encode the movie in two parts (which will save you the splitting later), also, TMPGEnc will provide you with much better quality then Nero ever will.
And TMPGEnc is free, you can download it from: www.tmpgenc.netEmail me for faster replies!
