can someone tell me what this means? i've looked through a fe FAQ's but i still don't fully understand whats the difference between the 2 and what each one of them mean, and why i should use one and not the other when doing specific things ?

Interlacing and Non-Interlacing are methods the picture is being displayed on your TV (or Monitor), for example, TV's (all of them!) playback in Interlaced format, while a PC Monitor uses Non-Interlaced.
