    This one is new to me. I've always received email and responded that way. Never had to actually create a fresh new email from scratch.

    So today, i need to send an email to a new email address i've never used before. However, i'm stumped as to where is the

    create new email icon or option.

    I can't find it anywhere. I'm on an LG android tablet w/ kitkat 4.4.2 and using gmail.

    make sure you are in the inbox and click the pencil on bottom right corner

    That's interesting as it's different on my Samsung tablet. There is a little envelope symbol/icon in upper right corner with a small plus symbol adjacent to the envelope.
