Im working on a dvd conversion of a Cine Film, and if played in standard Video TS folder format it plays as a 4:3 ratio in the middle of the screen with a huge black border.
what is a good, easy to use editing tool to get rid of these borders, but keeping the original ratio. basically make it fill the screen more....
im not too conversant with the technical tricks or complicated process, so the more simple the better.....

Assuming you are talking about a 4:3 letterboxed DVD produced by engineers for whom anamorphic widescreen was a bit over their head, you need to crop the borders all around. Any good tool can do that, for example HandBrake.

Just guessing here but I think you have a widescreen 4:3 DVD and you want to make it into a 16:9 DVD. A short 10 second sample would confirm (or disprove) that notion.

My first suggestion would be just to zoom it in your software DVD player or on your television because any conversion you make probably won't turn out any better.

DVD Rebuilder can automatically convert 4:3 DVDs to 16:9 DVDs. It's good but I don't know if it'll be easy enough for you. And it isn't editing you need but a full conversion.
