  1. Yo,

I have a problem when trying to import (into my timeline) .mp4 video file in Sony Vegas Pro 13.

I'm using Mirillis Action! to record video games. I record, video, system sounds and my voice from my microphone. Here's a screenshot of my settings within the software. I'm using the Nvidia NVENC option to boost my performance as that's the only way I can get smooth 60fps while recording (which I want). I also tried using normal .mp4 format and it's still the same problem, so no difference there. AVI works fine and imports the video properly, BUT the problem is that I don't get 60fps (I get an unstable 30fps).

My problem is that whenever I import the .mp4 file into SV13 and try and put it into the timeline the video track doesn't show up. All I get is my two audio channels and that's it. There's literally no video track.

    Here's a screenshot of what I mean.

I tried searching the internet and found this, but I couldn't fix the issue.

I can however import a working .mp4 video that I've rendered through Windows Movie Maker. So it's really bugging me why I can't import the videos I record. Also the rendered video that can be imported into SV13 is the MPEG-4/H.264 type. I don't know the type for the recorded video (not working one) though, I don't know how to check.

One more thing, when I try and open the raw recorded video into Windows Media Player, I can only hear one audio channel. But if I open it in the Mirillis Action! player and press "A" the channels switch between one another. Both audio channels work fine when imported into SV13.

I'm not exactly sure what I needed to mention and what I didn't, so I just mentioned everything.

vegas probably doesn't like that it's 480p60 at level 3.1 if you use vidcoder and encode it to 480p30 level 4.1 vegas will take it.

  3. Oh wow, that worked perfectly!
    Thanks so much

One question, why 4.1? There's many other options like 4.0 and 4.2, so why 4.1?

Puss, you use the Trimmer? Have you ever thought of just making regular splits into SubClips? A lot easier and faster.
