    Hi

I encoded a divx file to svcd (mpg2) and it works fine on my pc (wmp 6.4).

I did this with tmpgenc with bitrate of 2500. Then I cut it into 3 files also with Tmpgenc and added in chapters with vcdeasy. And burnt at 16x on Imation-CD-Rs with CD-Rao (part of VCDEasy).

So all 3 files play fine on my pc. But the end of part 1 and part 2 are corrupted. There are green bars on it, there is video looping, video freezes, audio problems.. it is bad. I didn't watch the 3rd file yet.

I am playing these files on a Pioneer DV-C503 player. I really don't know what is going on. The divx and all 3 mpg2 files play fine on my PC.

    Thanks for the help.

  2. First of all throw out the imation media. It falls into a category of cheap taiwanese produced media (CMC), that is extremely bad for mode 2 burning (VCD's, PSX games etc.).

Now, check your DC coefficient precision in TMPGENC, if it is at a value of 11, you will have playback problems, make sure your YUV colour component is set at 4.2.0, and make sure there are no corrupted frames in your source video. My guess however is the CDR media, imation ranks as amongst the worst.

For VCD, i recommend any silver/diamond or gold back CDR, most black backs are quite good aswell.

    Hi

    Thanks for the reply.

Ok, I burnt the EXACT same file (part 1) from my HD to a cheapo Hi-tech CD-R and it works fine (done using Nero). So:

    1. Either something wrong with the way that VCDEasy burns the file

    2. Could be a bad Imation CD-R (but 2 files are bad to play on the Pioneer)

Can I use Nero to put in chapters on the svds? If not, does Nero have bin/cue burning capability?
